Episode 21: Gabe Delahaye

our-dreams-are-so-small-gabe

Oh my gosh this episode.

Let us first apologize and warn you that, at times, the audio cutouts are a little annoying. We’re sorry. Sometimes the internet is a bastard. We did the best we could to edit around them. When it gets bad, hang on and I promise you it gets better. Mostly.

Secondly, were we on glue? Our time away from the podcast seems to have made us unable to form an articulate statement or question of any kind. As a result, we inundated Gabe with a lot of rambly rambles dressed up as conversation. What a way to start out the year “23”!

Don’t get me wrong – there’s still 45 minutes of completely awesome podcast in here. Our guest handled it like a champ and it was a lot of fun.

Speaking of our guest, I know we already gave you a little sneak peak, but let’s introduce him officially now: It’s GABE DELAHAYE!

Gabe is a blogger and comedian, an Avril Lavigne defender, and a somewhat-new Los Angeleno. In videos with his friend, Max, Gabe has been the boss of the internet and Hollywood and fashion. And contrary to our bizarre/stupid  introduction, he was a very special guest. But you can be the ultimate judge—download it right now and judge us all!

Episode 21 corrections and clarifications:

  1. The Japanese dog, “Hachikō” was an Akita Inu, not a Shiba Inu like Birdie.
  2. The Big Chill was set in South Carolina, but the characters met at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Ted Nugent is from Detroit but lives in Texas now.
  3. The year is 2013 (two-thousand-thirteen).

Outtakes: Ep 21 Gabe Delahaye

4 March, 2013 - One Response

gabe-delahaye
We began 2013 (or 20,013, according to Lisa) by talking to one of our favorite funny writers, Gabe Delahaye, Sr. Editor of Videogum and sometimes filmmaker with his buddy Max.

Darci then committed to five giant new projects in a month and took her sweet sweet time editing and uploading this episode for you. IN FACT, it’s not quite ready yet. But it should be by tomorrow-ish.

Until then, here is an outtake from the episode in which the three of us talk about underpants. Enjoy!

Episode 20: The GEOFF

28 December, 2012 - Leave a Response

geoff1

It’s a very special episode of Me Three, in which we all learn a lesson about the dangers of hitchhiking or bullying or what happens when you let the owner of a bicycle shop give your friend Dudley a bath.

Our very belated one-year-anniversary and 20th episode features our guest, Geoff Wolinetz, co-founder of Yankee Pot Roast (the comedy blog, not the entree), and co-author of Underrated: The Yankee Pot Roast Book of Awesome Underappreciated Stuff. In just under 45 minutes, Lisa invents Psychic Fan Fiction, Geoff fulfills his wish to be a Pyramid contestant (sort of) and Darci reminisces about an amazing, Swayze-inspired off-off-Broadway production.

End the year on a high note or make it your resolution to listen up fast!

Episode 19: Simon Smithson

26 November, 2012 - Leave a Response

Our first “internacional” interview in which we cross three time zones and speak to a guest FROM THE FUTURE!

In this episode, Lisa and Darci speak to the dashing comedy writer, Simon Smithson, of Melbourne, Australia. Simon tells us of his brief career in reality-TV-romance and explains the term “sepp” to our horror (yikes!). Lisa tells Kirk Cameron where he can go. Darci reminds us of the difference between hunks and dunks. It’s all three of us at our most charming and delightful. Don’t believe us? Give it a listen and decide for yourself.

Episode 17: Martin Iles

29 October, 2012 - One Response

Hey, buddies! We’ve got Martin Iles on this episode of Me Three and that means three things: weird stories, smooth jam singalongs and the kind of laffs that make you snort.

We talk to Martin about his work as an artist and “reluctant director” of the Good/Bad Art Collective, the infamous and legendary group of artists that once built an incredible weirdo-factory in a small Texas town. And we learn a lot about moles. Moles and magic. Moles and magic and Mad Magazine.

All in a day’s work, right?

Episode 16: Ahm76

16 October, 2012 - One Response

Ahm is your new favorite stranger, soon to be friend. She is superb at arranging her thoughts into words and has two podcasts: The One Four Oh and My Favorite Stranger.

In this episode we cover the 6 Ps of life: poop, podcasts, probability, pudendums, parents and profanity. Also, Lisa gets bathed in blood, which is a euphemism for being wrong (don’t look that up).

Episode 15: Dennis DiClaudio

28 September, 2012 - One Response

We called our pal Dennis DiClaudio on Sept 11, to talk to him about blogging for Comedy Central Indecision and writing books like The Hypochondriac’s Pocket Guide…, The Deviant’s Pocket Guide…, The Paranoid’s Pocket Guide… and Man vs Weather. But mostly we talked about our favorite movies and weird religious stuff.

Plus, we found out about Lisa’s love of glossaries and hobbits and how Darci’s new dog got the name Pony! Poni! Pone!

Episode 14: Sofiya Alexandra

11 September, 2012 - 2 Responses

Our guest, comedian Sofiya Alexandra, talks with us about emigrating from Russia as a kid, the prevalence of Yakov jokes and the hilarious inspiration of an all-in-one printer. We get a surprise visit from an old  friend (Suzanne Somers’ old lady cleavage) and a new friend (@brandamonium). Join us as we giggle a ton, sing about friendship and make more conversation about vaginae than you can shake a stick in.

Episode 13: Eric Ledgin

4 September, 2012 - One Response

This week, Lisa and Darci get lucky–it’s lucky episode #13!

Our guest, director and Emmy-nominated Emmy Award-winning writer Eric Ledgin, speaks to us about his time at Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (including the night he danced with Jon Hamm). We also discuss how to finish projects, whether or not it’s cool to be late, morning wood, and how Aaron Sorkin ruined Rudy (“Ruined-y”).

Don’t let us give away all the surprises. Shove it into your earmouths and find out all our secrets!
